THIS is a juicy one.
Pathr V1.1.0 is here, and while this update includes plenty of new features and quality-of-life improvements, the biggest changes happened beneath the surface.
We’ve made major improvements to the Pathr routing engine, helping it calculate more reliable routes and better account for your vessel, preferred cruising speed, units, and routing preferences.
In other words: smarter routes, better trip estimates, and a smoother experience from planning to departure.
Introducing Anchor Alarm
You can now set an Anchor Alarm directly within Pathr.
Once activated, Pathr monitors your position and alerts you if your vessel moves outside the radius you selected. Whether you’re stopping for lunch or anchoring overnight, you now have an extra set of eyes watching your position.
Multiple Vessel Profiles
Own or regularly operate more than one boat? You can now create multiple vessel profiles and clearly select which vessel is currently active.
Each profile can store its own dimensions, cruising information, and other vessel details, making it easier to switch boats without repeatedly changing your settings.
We’ve also made vessel information optional during initial setup, so new users can start exploring Pathr immediately and add their boat later.
Better Speed and ETA Controls
Powerboat users can now select their expected speed for an individual trip, giving Pathr more information to produce a useful ETA.
We also fixed inconsistencies with planned powerboat speeds and improved the way average speed is calculated throughout the app.
Vessel speeds can now be entered and displayed in:
Knots
Miles per hour
Kilometres per hour
More Flexible Measurements
Vessel dimensions can now be entered using feet and inches, making it easier to add accurate measurements without manually converting everything into decimal feet.
We’ve also clarified unit-selection labels so it is easier to understand which measurements Pathr will display throughout the app.
Additional Improvements
V1.1.0 also includes:
Improved routing engine performance and reliability
Clearer “Prefer Protected Waters” routing settings
Improved wave-direction display when rotating the map
Better visibility and handling of public user reports
Full friend profiles with vessel information
Improved field validation across the app
Better handling when completing a manual route without adding waypoints
A fix for the keyboard blocking the Prop Test start button
Improved timing for the safety disclaimer
General usability improvements and bug fixes
This is one of our biggest updates yet, but we’re just getting started.
Thanks to everyone using Pathr, reporting issues, and helping us build a better navigation experience for boaters. Keep the feedback coming.
